Sprinkler System Design for Lehigh Acres Properties
Lehigh Acres sits in unincorporated Lee County, and the soil across the area shifts between fast-draining sandy compositions and clay-heavy patches that hold water longer. Our technicians know these conditions well, and that knowledge shapes every zone layout and head selection we make. Sandy soil requires carefully sized zones to prevent dry spots; clay-heavy areas need adjusted run times to avoid oversaturation.
Lee County’s Water Conservation Ordinance sets clear limits on when irrigation can run. From February through May, a one-day-per-week watering schedule applies: odd-numbered addresses water on Saturdays, even-numbered addresses on Sundays. Year-round, irrigation is prohibited between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. New lawns and landscaping may qualify for up to 60 days of additional watering under the ordinance. We stay current on these requirements so every system we install can be programmed to comply from day one.
Southwest Florida’s alternating rainy and dry seasons put real demands on any irrigation system. We use smart controllers and drip irrigation options to handle that seasonal swing without requiring constant manual adjustments from the homeowner.
How a Sprinkler Installation Works
Every installation starts with a property assessment. We evaluate your lawn size, plant types, soil conditions, and water source to determine the right number of zones and the appropriate head types for each area.
From there, the process moves through these stages:
- Zone mapping and pipe layout: Underground pipes connect to your main water supply, with valve boxes controlling flow to each zone independently
- Head selection and placement: Spray heads, rotor heads, and drip irrigation lines are positioned based on each zone’s coverage requirements
- Controller installation and programming: Your irrigation controller is set up with a schedule that matches your property’s needs and complies with current Lee County watering restrictions
- Zone-by-zone system testing: We test every zone before wrapping up, confirming proper coverage, water pressure, and head alignment
